Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to E-Red (the "Application"), an e-book reading and personal library management app developed as a Freemium service by Mert Baikal (the "Service Provider"). This service is provided "AS IS".

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
What information do users provide to the Application?

The Application obtains information you provide when you download and use the app, or when you optionally create an account. Creating an account is not required; you can read books you add to your device without an account. However, without an account you may not be able to use some features the Application offers (such as cross-device reading sync).

E-book files you add, your reading progress, bookmarks, and highlights are stored on your device by default. Your book content is not uploaded to E-Red servers. With an optional account and subscription, your reading data may sync across devices.

Notifications and reminders

Reading and practice reminders are off by default; you can turn them on in Settings → Notifications. Reminders are primarily scheduled on your device. With an optional account, your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device notification token and a summary of notification preferences may be stored in Firestore; remote announcements and re-engagement notifications may be sent through this infrastructure. Notification content does not send book text to the server.

The Service Provider may also use information you provide to contact you from time to time with important information, required notices, and marketing promotions.

What information does the Application collect automatically?

In addition, the Application may automatically collect certain information, including the type of mobile device you use, your device's unique device ID, your device's IP address, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile internet browser you use, and how you use the Application.

Does the Application collect precise real-time location information from the device?

E-Red does not collect precise or approximate location information about your mobile device. The e-book reading service does not require location data.

Does the Application use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies?

E-Red does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features. Your book library, reading progress, and bookmarks are not processed with AI.

Do third parties see and/or access information obtained by the Application?

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help the Service Provider improve the Application and service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways described in this privacy notice.

Please note that the Application uses third-party services that have their own Privacy Policies. Links to the Privacy Policies of third-party service providers used by the Application are below:

What are my opt-out rights?

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

What is the data retention policy and how can you manage your information?

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. The Service Provider will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and may then store it in aggregate. Please note that some or all User Provided Data may be required for the Application to function properly.

How does the Application handle children's privacy?

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application is not directed at anyone under 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, it will be deleted from their servers immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider (baikoftdev@gmail.com) so they can take the necessary actions.

How is your information kept secure?

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards are provided to protect information processed and stored. For example, access to this information is limited to authorized employees and contractors who need to know it to operate, develop, or improve the Application. While the Service Provider strives to provide reasonable security for information processed and stored, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

How will you be informed of changes to this Privacy Policy?

By using the Application, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy and as amended by us. Processing means using or handling information in any way, including collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and disclosing it, including through cookies on a computer/handheld device.
